If you live in the South and give a damn about home design - you're following William McLure on instagram.
There is something comfortably familiar in everything McLure touches, but don't be confused - he is impossibly chic. I will spare you a brain numbing monologue on nature vs. nurture - but this brilliant Southerner was lucky enough to have someone recognize and encourage his talents from a very young age. Kindergarten, to be exact. McLure's teacher wrote home praising his talents, certain he would be an accomplished artist one day.
There is something truly remarkable about someone 'important' encouraging the passions of a child. I'll save that for another day.
When I studied design in college, I whole-heartedly considered myself a traditionalist. Blame my roots. I literally scoffed at contemporary design. Essentialism is innately foreign to me. The thought of clean lines gave me the hives.
Thankfully, tastes evolve - and will continue to do so. Timeless design is curated - collected - a culmination of character with little regard for any singular design "style."
